On a roll...
First of all, to answer Crafty Drama Queen's question, Katherine's hat in the post below was knitted with Sublime Yarns, 'Cashmere Merino Silk Aran'. I used just over half a ball of each colour. The pattern is the beret in 'Simply Baby' by Debbie Bliss.
Yesterday I started knitting the first of two bags for Miles' twin sisters. Their birthday was a few weeks ago, but due to too much baby knitting, I've been a bit late knitting these bags for them. The first bag was completed yesterday evening, the second this afternoon. Two bags in two days is pretty good, although I think I've been knitting will my shoulders tensed up as I'm a bit achey now!
Philippa's bag was knitted using two shades of Rowan Big Wool. The flower is two strands of Rowan 'Kidsilk Haze' and one strand of Colinette 'Parisienne'.
Imogen's bag was knitted with Rowan 'Biggy Print', the handle with one strand of Rowan 'Chunky Print' together with one strand of the new 'Kidsilk Aura'. The flower was knitted with one strand of 'Kidsilk Aura'.
This photo shows the beading on the flowers. You can just about see the bronze beads knitted into the handle of Philippa's bag as well. You should be able to click on the photo to get the full size image for a clearer view.
Right, now those are finished, I'd better get back to the boring 2x2 rib on an as-yet unblogged project...but (and you may need to sit down for this) it's a garment for me!

Why I do it.
I was wondering, a few days ago, why I knit for my friends' babies. Then I received a text from Em, to say, 'Thank you for Leila's beautiful presents, she insisted on putting them on last night. Will send photos later x'
And so, I remembered why I do it. Here's Leila, looking beautiful as always. She's growing up so quickly.
