Last week, this beautiful package arrived from my Secret Pal. So exciting! That's a big skein of cashmere and merino sock yarn from Posh Yarns; a sock-sized project bag from Ysolda; a notebook; some beautiful hand made stitch markers; some bubble bath from Lush AND the bag was filled with sweets, which lasted all of 5 minutes!
My Pal was spot-on with this package. I love the colour of the sock yarn, it's a yarn I've wanted to try for a long while now. The stitch markers have been adorning my current sock project, which will be in my next post. And my socks and all the accessories needed to knit them on the train, bus, tube etc all fit into the bag. It's perfect! Thanks Secret Pal :o)
Talking of socks, these are the socks I knitted for Mum for her Mother's Day present. You know, the Mother's Day present she received in August :o/ She decided last week that they should be blogged, so here they are, my first pair of knitted socks, on Mumsie's feet:
Aha! And now for my latest biggish project, Leila's finished bolero. I LOVE this! I am very proud of this knitting.
And even more proud of the stitches I picked up around the neck, back, and cuff edges. So proud in fact, that here's a close up view:
When I'd finished the bolero, I had a bit of yarn left over, so in a stash busting attempt, paired it with some aran weight Sublime yarn, and knitted this for baby Otto, to keep his little head warm this winter:
Right, that's all for now, I'll post sock progress soon. It's gorgeous, even if I do say so myself, lol.
