Hello Aloise

Congratulations to Clarey and Paul in New Zealand. Clarey gave birth to their second daughter on Sunday. She's called Aloise Charlotte. What a cutie! Big sister Molly is in this pic too, looking spookily like a miniature version of Clarey :o) Work began last night on a wee teal cardigan for the new bairn, though in accordance with my knitting diet, Aloise may receive it in time for her second birthday.

Clarey and I used to work together, but lost touch a few years ago. I found her on Friends Reunited earlier this year, and I'm so glad we're in touch again. Hopefully I'll be able to meet Molly and Aloise, and see Clarey and Paul again when I head south after I graduate. I'm feeling an increasing need to escape this country...

On a similar note, it's flatmate Ellie's wedding in Canada next Summer. She's just discovered a budget Canadian airline, Zoom. Return flights London-Toronto next August for around £350. Fantastic! Now, why doesn't someone do the same thing for flights to New York, perfect for stash enhancement ...

Yes, as a native NY-er I am craving all the fun yarn shops!! And it's so easy to squish your wool into a suitcase- you can get endless amounts in!
You can indeed get a roundtrip flight from Newcastle to New York (direct!!) for around £350 - 375. Check out American Airlines, and use their flexible dates search function. I found flights in May for £375 (incl. tax), you just have to travel Tues - Sat!
Might see you at the Forth later...

Cheap flights to NY would be a very, very, very dangerous thing!

Hi Alice,
Have you seen Canadian Affair or Air Transit? They both have really great deals for flying to Canada.
Love all your knitting and the beautiful children!
Love,
